the happiest place on earth

now has a website!

if you've never been, you are missing a *treat*. if you don't crack a smile here, there is something ridiculously wrong with you. the food is stellar, the folks here rock, and best of all you can find us goils there every week. and if you bring your own wine (as has been known to happen on a thursday grilled cheese night), they will even happily provide bottle opener and glasses.

happiness is grilled cheese, tomato soup, a glass of wine, and good people around you. (or brunch. there's happiness there, too.)

yum.

oh, and did i mention they have cookies? yeeeeeaaaahhhhh... happiness.

PSA of the day

get an extra 30% off of jcrew's final sale now thru friday, bringing their astronomical-of-late prices back near normal folks' budgets. i'm trying to resist their fabulous mary janes (the problem: black patent, parisian, or metallic?), but i'm not exactly known for my self-control....

full disclosure/caveat: no returns.

white people like blogs.

from the fabulousness that is dailycandy:
Are you tired of wondering what to bring to that dinner party?* Or which Broadway show* to take your friend from Seattle* to? Desperate for a blog* with answers to these questions?

Well, search no more, friends. Introducing:
Stuff White People Like.

Stuff White People Like is the only website devoted entirely to stuff that white people like! Enjoy educational articles* on items such as coffee,* expensive sandwiches,* dogs,* and ’80s nights.* Each entry includes a brief description of the item and why white people love it so much.

You’ll also gain insight into the behaviors of white people — for example, their fondness for difficult breakups: “Prior to engaging in divorce, most white people train for it by engaging in a series of long term relationships that end very poorly.”

With inside info like this, it’s hard not to like the site — especially if you’re a white person.*

(*White people love all these things and footnotes.)

my name is kelley and i like... kit kats?

one last post and then i'll leave this thing alone for another 2.5 years.

i have always been fascinated by how environmental vs. biological factors affect people's actions, decisions, or anything else that can be logically analyzed. i am very black-and-white, but i like to explore the grey areas. like, why are all oldest children bossy, youngest children super-outgoing, and middle children just basically screwed up? (you know where you are there.) or why do i like kit kats, karats, and, uh... well, i can't think of anything else that starts with a "k." but i do know i got a lot of strikeouts when i played softball growing up. just read the damn article:

and this is why i need a blog

to share fabulousness such as this:

i fully expect to see tech's band ripping this off at homecoming next year. i will be highly disappointed if not. they'll just have to lock up the flag girls cuz i just don't see them fitting in... except maybe one at the end, dressed as a princess.
